I'm all shades of Bipolar NOS
Well... to start it off, I'm the webmaster here, Chris. And I exist (not suffer) with bipolar disorder NOS (the Rapid Cycling type). It was really difficult at first to come to grips with having a mental illness, but with time I have gained some amount of control over my life.
The biggest trick was stress... getting rid of it. Mostly that is accomplished by looking on the bright side, taking it one step at a time, and having faith in God (whatever style that may be). Secondly was diet and exercise. I can't speak enough on the wonders of moving your body - dancing, gardening, sports... whatever. Exercise relieves stress and releases endorphins that cheer you up when you are down. And when you are manic, exercise can tire you out eventually (which is better than doing something destructive, or shopping).
So... anybody else out there living with BP ? What steps have you taken to gain control of your life.
-Chris
