Add new commentSuper Mega GeeknessSubmitted by christodd on Sat, 05/22/2004 - 07:57. ComputersI ran across a crazy peice of software that I'm digging on. It's called DesktopX and it is the best use for Active Desktop that I've run across. It lets you create super cool desktops with active components that are animated and can have sounds and do things when you click on them. It even uses Visual Basic for a scripting language. And I'm just using the free version. And there are themes. WinCustomize.com is just loaded with themes and objects for this program, including (much to my geek enjoyment) a LCARS terminal (actually 3 different ones, but I only could get one to really work). And its' such an easy program to customize that I stayed up until 4 in the morning playing with my desktop. I never play with my normal windows desktop, but I love this. Haha.... I built a monster that I just had to take a screenshot of and post. What you don't see is the sound effects. I feel like I'm on a friggin TV show. Star Trek Desktop + Matrix ScreenSaver = Mega Nerd. I'm in heaven. Reply |
