This is a little note I wrote myself, to help remind me.  I put it up on my wall, and now I'm putting it up here.  Its' just a little thought about desperation and faith.

"Desperation is a dangerous condition  It is the brother of fear.  It is the absence of not hope, but faith.  When one has no hope, he will fight to survive.  When one has no faith, he will surrender.  Whan all hope is lost, then miracles happen, but only if faith is still in the heart. 

Give up hope, fill free to fear that all is lost.  But have faith that you are not abandoned.  For our gifts are ours, our powers within us, and we carry them inside of our faith.  They are kindled and fed by our faith in them.  When we lose faith, we lose our powers.  Without our powers, we are lost to desperation.  And desperation will rape us, and keep our faith away.  

When you are desperate, you have no power. 

With faith, you can accomplish anything."
