Violin Solo - Allegro Fiocco

My mother recently came down from the frozen wasteland that is Canada and visitted me. It was Mom's day, and her birthday, so I wanted to do something a little special. So I hooked up the pickup on my violin (handy little thing) to my computer, pulled up some free software (I highly recommend Audacity - it's free and available for nearly every platform), and recorded a CD full of violin solos for my her. I thought I'd put one up here for download. I've been playing the violin for years, not as a pro or anything, but because I love the dang thing. I'm trying to learn how to fiddle. Actually, I'm trying to learn how to memorize music. Sight reading can be a handycap, and trying to learn a tight fiddle piece requires playing faster than I can read.... Anyway, this is an Allegro by J.H. Fiaco - it's a pretty piece with some dynamic parts. I enjoy playing it, and someday I hope to get good at it. Until then, this is the best I've done so far. It's a 4.5 meg download, so dialup users beware ;P |
